BOLD Leadership Network Celebrates Excellence in Education with the Real Ms. Abbott

On Monday, February 10, 2025, Greenville, South Carolina, became the heart of inspiration and educational advocacy as the BOLD Leadership Network hosted its Celebration of Excellence at The Warehouse Theatre. The evening featured none other than Ms. Joyce Abbott—the groundbreaking educator who inspired the Emmy-winning show Abbott Elementary.
Ms. Abbott’s message was both empowering and profound. She encouraged educators, parents, and community members to connect deeply with students, gain their trust, and earn their respect. She reminded us that, for many students, the challenges they face at home may not be conducive to learning. As educators and parents, she emphasized, it is our job to continually raise the bar, providing both support and high expectations. As a parent raising a child who has dreamed of being an educator since the age of four, hearing Ms. Abbott’s wisdom was particularly moving. Knowing that my child—and future educators like her—have incredible role models in Ms. Abbott and the members of the BOLD Leadership Network gives me hope.
