About Me
I’m Nakeshia Shannon, a storyteller at heart and a passionate advocate for creativity. With over 13 years of experience in photography and a background in journalism and public relations, I’ve dedicated my career to capturing moments and crafting narratives that resonate. My work with TALK Magazine and Upstate Parent has allowed me to connect with incredible individuals and communities, showcasing the artistry and impact they bring to the world.

Outside of my work, I’m a wife and mom to three amazing kids who inspire me daily. Balancing family and creativity has shaped my perspective, reminding me of the beauty in everyday moments and the power of authentic storytelling.

Why I Created Capture & Compose
During my time as a contributor for magazines, I often encountered stories that deserved to be told but didn’t fit within the limitations of print publication schedules. Capture & Compose was born from my desire to illuminate those untold stories. It’s a platform where voices that might otherwise go unheard can shine. Here, I merge my love for photography, journalism, and authentic storytelling to celebrate the extraordinary in everyday lives, fostering connection and inspiration through shared narratives.
